Also I am not sure what you mean by knowing where the rings are. I reuse rings and they are in a basket in my pantry. Lids can only be used once and are tossed after we use the jar.

No never. The only thing sealing the jar is the lid. The rings come off once it's cooled. If the lid pops off in storage you pitch the whole thing.
Rings off tomorrow. I once met someone who stored her canned goods with the rings on! Uh, the jar is sealed by the lid. The ring just holds the lid in place while you’re canning. If you store the jar with the ring on, you would never know if the seal fails, and then botulism has entered the chat.!🤣
Today I’m making and canning a huge batch of navy bean, ham and vegetable soup. Had to dig a few things from the freezer, but everything but the beans and ham came from our garden. Lots of warm soup ready for Fall! 😋
