In a new study, Ona Wu and colleagues developed an AI tool to help doctors make better decisions when treating cardiac arrest patients who fail to wake up. The tool automates the detection of severe brain swelling — a key predictor of poor outcome — on CT scans with 87% accuracy.

The Trigeminal Nerve and Migraine: Linking Structure to Function - Migraine Science Collaborative A new study combines structural MRI, functional MRI, and PET imaging to connect changes in the trigeminal root entry zone to inflammation and brainstem activity in people with migraine.

A multimodal study of #migraine by the center's Sarasa Tohyama, Vitaly Napadow, Marco Loggia and others moves us closer to objective assessment for clinical diagnosis of the disease.

Father's hunt for answers after son's suicide leads military to modify training and weapons A veteran's brain showed no signs of physical injury, until a post-mortem after his suicide found microscopic scars. Now, his father is fighting to protect others in the military.

A study led by Martinos researcher Brian Edlow, MD, using the center's state-of-the-art Connectome.X MRI scanner, has shed light on the relationship between cumulative, low-level blasts in military settings and a range of cognitive symptoms in military personnel.
