The ones celebrating "Wiener Beer" the most were 9-year old boys who thought it was *hilarious*.

A beautiful homemade flan

A beautiful homemade flan

One of the moms of the families I’ve been delivering groceries to asked today if I’d be willing to accept something from her. And she came back with this beautiful flan she’d made to say thank you for helping us. I am crying. People are too kind. This is whom our government is forcing into hiding.

The most important hospital in Minnesota isn’t Mayo, it’s HCMC. Oppressed people statewide end up as economic refugees in Minneapolis, where HCMC is the hospital of last resort. If you’ve seen β€œThe Pitt,” HCMC is our version of that. Their people care about you when nobody else will

Engraved illuminated resolution printed on page 51 of the 1886 Minneapolis Industrial Exposition Souvenir and Illustrated Hand-Book. Text as follows:
REPORT
SPECIAL COMMITTEE
MINNEAPOLIS BOARD OF TRADE
Your committee beg leave to state briefly their conclusions based upon a careful examination of the system and a knowledge of the work that is being accomplished by the Corliss Commercial College.

The course of instruction seems to be singularly complete, comprehensive sensible practical and effective under the thorough system inaugurated by Prof. C.C. Curtiss.

And the fact that all worthy graduates find profitable employment awaiting them is sufficient evidence of the merit of such an instruction as the Curtiss College of Minneapolis.

Your Committee feel like congratulating the City of Minneapolis on possessing so thorough and admirable an institution and recommends the adoption of the following resolutions:

The Board of Trade sees in the Curtiss Commercial College an institution of high reputation, sterling merit and great usefulness to the business community of the Northwest.

SECOND, that in its methods, management and results it strongly commends itself to the entire business community in which it has grown up and which it is so honorably identified.

COMMITTEE: Geo. R. Pillsbury, Pres; C.C. Sturdevant, Sec., R,B Nettleton, David Blakely, William Pettit, Robert Hale, Richard Chute.

If the Minneapolis flag logo is too much for people, the city seal is crazy busy and cool in its own right. Very realistic to have miscellaneous shit littering the river bank.

I apparently came to the wrong suburban coffee shop, so to amuse myself & horrify you, I’m unveiling my MINNEAPOLIS PATROL MOM/DAD/UNCLE/AUNT/NO KIDS FOR US THANKS jacket. Nothing will top St. Paul’s jacket, but I accepted my own challenge to incorporate Mpls’s oft-mocked flag logo in the design.

The taller Pioneer Building was built in 1889, and I recall the boast that it was the tallest building between Chicago and Seattle.
