A sticker sheet from the Michael's craft store with Monster High-esque designs: skeletal ribs in a heart, a skull with a pink bow, the phrase "Ghoulfriends forever", etc.

Michael's straight-up jacking Monster High G1's aesthetic for their Halloween decor this year is hilarious. I'm not mad about it, but it's so blatant.

this, definitely. having experienced this as both receiver & giver, i can tell you, don’t hesitate. if we get through all thisβ€”togetherβ€”it will be because we have the courage to share how much we mean to each other. knowing my work has changed (saved) lives has changed, & saved, my own life.

Sleep is a biological necessity, and sleep deprivation has real physical, psychological, and social consequences that need to be taken seriously. The way our society treats it as slothful to sleep according to natural rhythms (including midday naps and variant chronotypes like night owls) is evil.

The full quote: "I think the sublime confusion is from nineteen to twenty-nine. You think you are late for everything, you're a has been, nothing is happening, there's no opportunity for you, the world is closed, everything is a disaster, you wanna die. And then you're thirty. "
"You young people are in the exact age of desperation. I never felt more done and old than in my twenties. I'd say 'life has passed me and I did nothing.' But I'm here to tell you that's not true: you have a lot of fucking time."

I love Guillermo del Toro calling ages 19 to 29 "sublime confusion"

you can purchase and play DEVOTION directly through Red Candle Games' own website, which I highly recommend instead of using steam!

I'd also add that it's not just a critique on religious cults, but there's many overarching themes and ties to Taiwanese history and culture. shop.redcandlegames.com

Abstract: In the early 1970s, Japan saw the emergence of three dynamic and overlapping communities of women and adolescent girls who challenged Japanese gender and sexual norms: the women’s liberation (Ε«man ribu) movement, the lesbian community, and a sphere comprised of artists and fans of queer shōjo manga (girls’ comics). In this talk, James Welker will discuss Transfiguring Women in Late Twentieth-Century Japan: Feminists, Lesbians, and Girls’ Comics Artists and Fans, which examines these communities and their cultural import. As he shows, individually and collectively, they found the normative understanding of the category β€œwomen” untenable and worked to redefine and expand its meaning by transfiguring ideas, images, and practices selectively appropriated from the β€œWest.” They did so, however, while remaining primarily focused on the local. Welker argues that their transfiguration of Western culture into something locally meaningful had tangible effects far beyond these communities.

to be honest I've always found it kinda fun to end up being a little bit crappy at whatever I try to do... Takes a lot of pressure off, and I feel like everyone can tell when you're doing something just for the love of the game
