Some of the frivolous September purchases made under Secretary Pete Hegsethโs stewardship include a $98,329 Steinway & Sons grand piano for the Air Force chief of staffโs home, $5.3 million for Apple devices such as the new iPad, and an astronomical amount of โฆ

Kemi BadEnoch is very much a product of post Brexit Britain. To vociferously attack the PM for not joining Trump then a day later claiming she never said that. And expecting to just get away with it. Well done media.
No clawing that back.
i sort of think part of the problem here is that accurately portraying american sentiment about this war would shred a lot of other assumptions about the second trump admin that much of the political press have been running with since the start

For fucks sake he shouldnโt have gotten clearance
Thankfully, no other president ever needed to.
Chris Murphy: "I Just came from a two hour, closed door classified briefing on the war. It just confirmed to me it's totally incoherent. We are not gonna be able to achieve any of our stated objectives ... this is a disaster of epic proportions, a 10 day debacle"
Lol no
The remaining Hereditary Peers are now set to be removed from the House of Lords after the Tories dropped their opposition in the Lords to be Bill delivering on Labour's manifesto promise.
The bill has stuck on the Lord's for over 6 months with no action.

Hereditary peers out of the Lords at long long last - delivering the rather simple principle that you donโt deserve a vote in Parliament by virtue of which family your were born into www.gov.uk/government/n...
I remember during the expenses scandal a Tory MP was busted for putting thousands into his garden to the point of adding a moat. He went on TV and decided the best defence was to argue it was none of his constituents business and they were just jealous how lovely his home was.

This is the media that spent weeks making a scandal over the budget because they were bored, and when the OBR said that Reeves was correct, they decided to go after her chess credentials. Yes, Labour's unpopularity is partly self-inflicted, but the media is also part of the problem!
That Dem consultants told Gov. Walz to stop calling them โweirdโ still has me miffed.
Look man, my depression is already bad enough.
Right wing media: DEFUND THE BBC.
Right wing media: why canโt the BBC now afford to show the thing I like?

I just left another briefing on Iran.
Here's the only part of Trump's plan that is clear to me:
He won't spare a cent for the 15 million Americans who will lose their health care, but he'll spend a billion dollars a day bombing Iran.
When is the Trump admin ever going to be honest with the American people about what is happening in Trump's latest war?
Britainโs entire rightwing political classes being dragged around by whatever nonsense happens to have appeared on Trumpโs Truth Social account in the past fifteen minutes is something to behold
Rep. Thomas Massie says Trump called him on the House floor after he pushed to release the Epstein files.
Trump told him three times: "I'm coming at you like you've never seen in your life."

Magnificent captions - the lot of them

"We're not gonna be harassed by the New York Times who have put out a lot of articles on this" -- Leavitt sneers at the New York Times for reporting on what by all accounts seems to have been a US strike that killed scores of elementary school students in Iran
Leaving allies in one part of the world vulnerable because you didn't plan *before* you attacked in another part of the world is rank incompetence.
And when a war is "almost over," you don't move missiles from Asia to the Middle East.
