How to choose a sweet cherry tree. All of these are self fertile, hardy, and decent on disease/cracking resistance.

Lapin - Highest yield and more 'rich' flavor
Black Gold - Easy to grow, less yield than lapin, clean flavor
Sweetheart - Late season. Rich flavor
Stella - Early Season. Clean Flavor

Columnar Apples are a vertical type of apple tree that grows in an upright column.

You can grow them in a pot, or you can grow them on a lot.
You can grow them near a stoop, you can grow them by a coop.
You can purchase them online, or in person come spring time.

If you're in the USA, now is a good time to write to your representatives in the Senate. (Schumer/Gillibrand for me NY) There is an upcoming vote on funding for ICE/DHS.

If you're not sure what to say, you can use my letter as a template.

I'm doing some research in a manner that requires precise citations. I'm finding myself wanting to quote sources from the EPA, USDA, and Census bureau. At one point I would have been really confident in that. These days I'm not sure how much I can actually trust that as a source?

Spotted Joe Pye Weed (Eutrochium maculatum) Native to a wide range temperate areas in the united states. It often can be seen out in the wild forming large clumps and masses of plants. This is a late summer through fall bloomer. Grows rapidly, responds very well to nitrogen, and yeah just great.

The North American Paintbrush Plant Castilleja coccinea is a hemi-parastic biennial. It does not require a host plant for it's lifecycle. However, it does greatly benefit by being able to steal nutrients from nearby hosts. In some areas of the country, there is also a yellow phenotype.

Did you know? Modern Peach and Apricot varieties are bred in... Ontario, Canada?

Frost Peach is the best peach variety with disease resistance to Peach Leaf Curl a notoriously difficult fungal infection.

Not to mention those spring pink blossoms

The 2026 catalog is online and taking orders. Still a bunch to do (namely more/better photos) but the hard part is out of the way. Over 120 different products this year. Double the number of native plants and a wide selection of fruit and ornamental trees.
