A lot of the adjustments that we can make to therapy practice in order to become neurodivergence-affirming would actually benefit ALL clients. For example
- clear communication
- consistent boundaries
- no assumptions about the meaning of communication differences
- choices over seating/environment
This is stupid. Having an exam this long in the first place is stupid. What are they trying to prove? What possible useful thing is it testing that couldn't be tested in two shorter exams (or without an exam at all)?

repeating the same feedback to students I fail because they try to use ChatGPT to write their essays? Yes, but I rarely have to do it to the same student twice. Once they see that AI can't cut it they learn an important lesson and education is, after all, all about learning lessons.
how students approach a specific situation or explore ideas through a patient case study. This requires critical engagement, understanding complex human needs, and nuance. Any student who thinks they can get AI to write this for this will fail.

Secondly, I firmly believe a good assessment is not simply an exercise on recall of information but should be about the application and critical discussion of ideas and information. AI is awful at this. Our written assignments are always looking at...
...however, firstly, anyone who copies and pastes from one source will always fail their assignment. If they assume ChatGPT is always correct and do not corroborate with other sources they will get incorrect info and they will fail the assignment, just as they would if they only used...
I really don't know if getting involved in AI in academia conversations is a terrible idea, but here I am anyway...
My take is that I don't think dealing with AI use by students is that big a deal. I get lots of students using ChatGPT at the moment because it is new and they think it will be easy..
Not my research project but I figure there may be people on here who might be interested in taking part. #Madsky
None of this report surprises me. I am more interested in what is done about something so pervasive almost every woman will have a story to share: www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
I was just saying to the husband this morning that the decision I made a couple of years ago to just quietly not go to work Christmas or other team celebration events has significantly improved my wellbeing and relationship with work. It has removed a huge chunk of stress by just not going.
This is what Victorian ladies used to do with weird guys who tried to break into their house through the chimney and offer their kids presents.

This is not to bash the service, which can be great for some situations and people, but to recognise that a lack of other options means inappropriate referrals are common.
...meaning many people's circumstances will have changed by the time they actually get to an appointment making the therapy offered no longer appropriate.
The levels of qualifications the therapists hold are variable. Many are awesome people, some highly qualified, but others do not have...
Thoughts based purely on my own experiences of working in primary care mental health and a personal history of trying to access talking therapy.
The types of therapy that are available are very limited and not appropriate for many people.
Waiting times are variable but often quite long...

The yearly ritual of getting bombarded with messages from the GP to get COVID and flu vaccines and then being treated like an interloper when I finally get around to getting said vaccines. Yes, I may be young but I am actually quite mad, thank you for asking.
This one makes my brain explode every time. I end up stuck in a glitch and just stare at them confused and unable to respond.

I was recently having a conversation about making staff put pronouns in their signatures. I don't generally share my pronouns in this way as I just can't conceptualise my gender in such fixed and stationary terms. It's only talking to other autistic people that I have met others who get this feeling
That's so cool. I'll be keeping an eye out for the interview on the BBC site as I'm very interested in what the experience of using it is for people who have already tried it.
I just...I mean... seriously dude 🤷

I know that disability support leads from universities across the country have been raising these issues and trying to get changes made to reduce the waiting times for students. To have a press release put out saying how super it all is, is beyond infuriating. This whole change has been a disaster.
The delays to DSA have been a big issue for our disabled students who are waiting up to a full semester without the tools and support they need. This means having to complete assignments, exams, attend lectures while facing huge disadvantages. The support team can only do so much to fill this gap.
