however i looked up the original ( #DND1e & #dnd2e) versions OMG it was way worse....

in my #dnd3e campaign we are still venturing through Queen of the Spiders. Currently we are going through G2 The Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl. in the rift there is a snow dome that contains a Remorhaz.

Now i never used one and didn't read into it. but OMG it nearly wiped the party...

Well i'm still sorting out MW5 mod stuff so can't do that. Instead i'm going to hang in #warhammer40k Inquisitor and do some crusades or die trying!

At this point the party barred the barracks and tried to sleep. Thankfully they were granted a bit of rest...

Session 1 ended with a whopping 4 rooms cleared but the chief is dead so there is a bit of hope the party will survive if only barely.

They ran back to the Raptor pens (22) and met up with 2 hill giant and 2 stone giant guards.

Now bolstered they stood their ground but 2 fireball wands decimated their ranks

While most of them were still standing they were badly injured but fell quickly to the party's onslaught

At this point the Chief with 2 ogre escorts stumbled in and discovered the dead raptors and guards.

They confronted the players but the Chief quickly sounded the horn to alter the castle

2 of the commanders (hill and stone giant) came to his aid but were fled when the chief died

Once that was cleared they entered into the back of the castle where they found even more raptors (22).

They ventured into the barracks (23) where they found 7 ogres sleeping. after quickly dispatching them they fumbled the search of 23, 24 & 25. (rolled a nat1)

So my players did a bit of prep, grabbed some potions, wands, etc. then went out on the trek into the mountains to find the hill giants.

After a few random encounters they got to the wooden 'castle' but stumbled upon some Ogres taking the Raptors out on a walk.

So in todays #DND session the players finally decided to do some underdark adventuring... so i figure let's do Queen of the Spiders!

yeah they get to start with a few weeks of Giant Slaying before they go to the underdark 🐉🤣
