I was originally going to add an epilogue, but after talking it over with my editor, we decided it was a stronger end here. Hope you enjoy!

Fanfic summary: Jayce comes into the care of a reclusive mage whose past is as tightly guarded as his sanctuary. An uneasy coexistence slowly deepens into something more complex - an exploration of grief, trust, power, and the long road toward healing. Tags include age difference, sex, trauma, and original character deaths.
