Domestic violence is a leading cause of homelessness for women & children. CCH has a Survivor Services Program to support survivors of crime. They can support with basic needs, safety planning, VAWA paperwork, Address Confidentiality Program apps and more

Housing is the foundation to stability 🏘️

A systematic review of 26 studies found that compared to Treatment First programs, Housing First programs decreased homelessness by 88% and improved housing stability by 41%.

Investing strategically in deeply affordable housing for those with the greatest need is vital to making Colorado affordable for everyone who works and lives here.

Hash browns aren't the only thing rapidly increasing in cost compared to minimum wage.

According to NLIHC's Out of Reach Report, Colorado’s Housing Wage to afford a modest 2-bedroom apartment at fair market rent is $36.79/hr. Put in U.S. McDonald’s hash brown terms, that’s 11 hash browns/hr.

CCH is proud to be selected as lead agency for the new Sage Ridge Supportive Residential Community, opening in late 2025 in Arapahoe County. The 560-acre campus will support Coloradans experiencing homelessness with voluntary addiction recovery for up to 2 years.

The principles of support-centered housing have also been fundamental to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, which has cut veteran homelessness by 50% over the past decade and functionally eliminated veteran homelessness in CT, DE, VA, and dozens of other cities and municipalities.

Support-centered housing has decades of robust evidence showing that this model is the most effective method to reduce homelessness. Support-centered housing reduced homelessness by 88%, improved housing stability by 41%, and provided greater health benefits compared to the housing first model.

Colorado ranks as the 10th least affordable state for renters, according to NLIHC's 2025 Out Of Reach Report — a slight improvement from last year’s #8 spot.

Karen, NP, CCH: We approach the care of our clients on the assumption that everybody has trauma, and it's kind of the chicken or the egg: Did they have the trauma before homelessness, and that led to homelessness, or do they have the trauma because of homelessness? And usually the answer is yes.

Winnie, Program Manager, CCH: Homelessness is not just a housing issue, it's a public health crisis rooted in trauma, and this is where our integrated care comes in at the Coalition, and understanding that this is the point where people begin to heal--where our clients begin to heal.

- 45% of people had been engaged for 1-3 years
- 28% of people had been engaged for 4-10 years
- 16% of people had been engaged for over 10 years
- Those engaged for over 10 years were most likely to have engaged with behavioral health or substance use disorder care
