#NECMBB Scoreboard for the first Saturday of this CBB season. New Haven with its second home in less than 48 hours. FDU falls to Saint Peter's in Jersey City. Mercyhurst gets its second win of the season, routing non-D1 PSU-New Kensington in its home opener.

Halfway through today's slate of #NECMBB games. Congrats to New Haven for being the first NEC school to host a Big Ten team on its home floor. The result was not unexpected as they fell by 44 to the Nittany Lions. FDU trails Saint Peter's at the half. Mercyhurst is about to tip its home opener.

LIU WBB is back in action tonight as they are in Tampa to face a very good South Florida team. USF is currently ranked 56th at Bart Torvik. Torvik has LIU as a -30 point underdog. #LIUWBB

Last night was a fun night of #NECMBB. Two road wins from LIU and Mercyhurst + Le Moyne gave Xavier a tough game before falling to them. Chicago State held its own against Saint Louis before falling off in the second half. Disappointing loss for CCSU as Quinnipiac won convincingly.

If LIU plans to win tonight, its defense, especially its 3-point defense, has to play way better than it did Monday night at Notre Dame. Two big keys for LIU tonight: rebounding & protecting the ball. IU Indy's press and them playing at home are going to make the first 8-10 mins important. #LIUMBB

ESPN analytics gives LIU just a 36% chance of winning, while KenPom gives LIU a 55% chance, & Torvik gives LIU a 68% chance of winning. So the metrics are a bit all over the place tonight. I look at tonight as more of a toss-up due to IU Indy's new style of play with their new HC. #LIUMBB

Six games on the #NECMBB slate tonight, all except one on ESPN+ (SFU on TNT!). The two most interesting games on the slate: LIU @ IU Indy, and Central Connecticut @ Quinnipiac. It is only game two of the season but I think we're going to learn a bit more about both teams after tonight.

Tmrw, we have our first pair of interesting gms to watch w/ CCSU @ Quinnipiac, preseason NEC #2 vs preseason MAAC #1, & LIU @ a retooled IU Indy who, under new HC Ben Howlett, wants to run, gun, & press for 40 mins & clearly push the pace. I'm fascinated to see what results from both games. #NECMBB

After a jam-packed #NECMBB season opener on Monday in which all 10 teams were in action, today is the second straight day with no games. Not to worry. Beginning tomorrow, it will be the start of 13 straight days with at least one NEC team in action, including 6 games tomorrow.

#NECMBB returns for Wk 6 with these four matchups. Mercyhurst is the lone road favorite. Big clash in CT tonight between first-place CCSU and FDU. LIU heads to Staten Island to face Wagner. Mercyhurst looks for their fifth straight W at Chicago St. Le Moyne & SFU both look to end losing streaks.

The #NECMBB season officially hits the midway point after tonight's games. LIU & Mercyhurst will have the least # of games remaining at seven in the second half, while Chicago St., FDU, and Le Moyne each have nine remaining.

Week 5 of the #NECMBB season commences tonight w/ 4 gms. A battle for 1st place will take place in BK as CCSU heads to LIU. Mercyhurst, winners of 3 of the last 4, hosts SFU. FDU looks for three in a row vs Le Moyne. Wagner @ Stonehill, winner moves into sole possession of the final QF spot.

#LIUWBB returns home tonight looking to snap a five-game losing streak as they host Saint Francis. Tonight begins a four-game homestand for the Sharks which is their longest of the season and likely their most pivotal considering they are sitting in last place in #NECWBB.

Update from the NCAA D1 council today that affects the three NEC reclassifying schools (Stonehill, Le Moyne, and Mercyhurst). Each school can reduce its 4-yr reclassifying period by a year IF they meet new criteria set by the NCAA.
