Massage therapy needs to be effective for client and efficient for massage therapist. Avoid complicating the application-simplify.
Massage is physical work but does not need to be hard work. Raise or lower table. Use forarms more than hands, palm and heel of hand more than fingers.

As massage therapists procedures are things we do. We drape our clients, complete intake assessments, apply massage methods. When developing procedures we need to understand WHY and practice to perfect HOW. We do not need multiple hows so long as procedure is effective, efficient and fits why.

The American Massage Therapy Association 2025 Massage Profession Research Report indicates that the primary reasons people receive massage is for health and wellness, relaxation and stress relief. The next most sought outcome is relief from stiffness, aching and pain. General massage can do this.
