Congrats to all newly minted scientists, physicians, public health workers, and healthcare workers who are graduating! You are entering professions that are tragically under heavy political attack, but please know that you are needed now more than ever. You got this!

This insightful article is based on feedback shared by our campaign supporters earlier this month. It shows how the threat of benefit cuts is ALREADY harming Disabled people and highlights the devastating consequences if those cuts happen.

A bright green background featuring a quote from an OU student about SCONUL Access that reads: "As I do not live local to an OU campus, it is helpful to be in the university environment to motivate and facilitate my studies. Accessing other university libraries allows me to have the benefits of a brick uni while having the flexibility of distance learning."

Do you need space to study or to borrow books from your local university library? 💻📚

The OU belongs to a national scheme called SCONUL Access, allowing eligible #OUstudents and staff to study at/borrow books from other university libraries in the UK and Ireland: www.open.ac.uk/library/help...

For all the flak George Lucas gets for his writing, pretty hard to deny the "so this is how liberty dies" line is an unfortunately spot on banger.

It doesn’t matter if you pay for it—buying digital media only gives you the illusion of ownership. In an era of mass censorship and the erasure of history, physical media is king.

Make space for your favorite books. Especially if they’re on a ban list.

Overhaul ‘unsustainable’ incapacity benefits system, Lords committee urges Peers call on Labour to carry out ‘fundamental review’ amid rising concerns over retention of Tory plans for £3bn in cuts

Meanwhile, we need to target those pesky disabled people: www.theguardian.com/society/2025... I despair.

This is Bertie my #CockerSpaniel . His new favourite trick is to find sticks, carry them around and then leave them on the pavement on our road. So residents of Lords Way, this is why sticks are randomly appearing on the pavement 🐶

Petition: Prohibit publishers irrevocably disabling video games they have already sold The government should update consumer law to prohibit publishers from disabling video games (and related game assets / features) they have already sold without recourse for customers to retain or repa...

The Stop Killing Games petition got derailed by the change in UK government so there's now a new one to sign if you, like me, believe that your purchase of a product in the video-games space should mean you get to keep "playing" your games in perpetuity.

The speed at which corporations r ditching DEI proves they were never serious abt diversity, equity or inclusion. Those they sought to exclude were never meant to be included. Racism, misogyny & xenophobia - that’s their comfort zone, the settings they r familiar with & comfortable operating within.

A night sky with the moon in the centre of the image. It is surrounded by a halo of light caused by moisture in the atmosphere. Jupiter can be seen at the moon’s 8 o clock, and the silhouette of some conifer trees can be seen at the bottom quarter of the image.

The moon sporting a wonderful halo just now. Captured on IPhone 15 Pro Max in #Devon, UK. #astronomy #astrophotography

The tree featured on the front cover is known locally as the “Raddon Tree, “Parrot Tree” or the “Dinosaur Tree”. It won the Devon’s Favourite Tree contest in 2019, and the image on the front cover of this book was the photo submitted for the competition. It was taken by Heather Sheppard.

Front cover of a book “A Devon Night’s Death” by Stephanie Austin. The book title is in all caps in white text, and the author’s name is in all caps, in a slightly smaller font in a cream coloured text.
At the bottom of the image is a caption in white text, all caps, that reads “In the hours of darkness what will come to light?”. Behind the text sits the photo of a lone tree with a sunset behind.
A photo taken by myself of me sat on a bed with an open book, with a red and white cocker spaniel asleep with his head rested on my lap. A screenshot of the book blurb which reads:

In the Dartmoor town of Ashburton, reluctant antique shop owner and accidental amateur sleuth, Juno Browne, has cash-flow problems. So, when the mild and gentlemanly bookbinder, Frank Tinkler, rents a room above the shop, he seems like the answer to a prayer. At home, Juno accidentally disturbs intruders and shortly afterwards, one of them falls to his death from a viaduct.
Was it accident, suicide or murder? When Juno recognises his accomplice as Frank's nephew, Scott, she decides to investigate .

#BookSky 💙📚 I have resolved to spend more time reading in 2025, starting with this book “A Devon night’s death” by Stephanie Austin. I am really enjoying it so far, particularly as I was born and live in #Devon so it’s great to read about familiar places.

That's how much Big Oil has spent over the last 30 years paying off Congress to look the other way on climate action while the planet burns.

Well, the planet is burning.
Don't let them look away.
