Earlier today, I stopped an audiobook because I wasn't enjoying a sex scene, and I put on a book about Hegelian philosophy instead. That was much more enjoyable, and I listened to it for two and a half hours.

BTW, I don't know if people know this, but 'Rakeela Windrider' is not something that I consider a pseudonym or a pen name. If legal name changes weren't such a PITA, it'd be my legal name, and in any case it is my 'true' name. I really identify by this name, and it has name pop when people say it.

I have little evidence that this guy stalked me, but I certainly never stalked him. So if you meet some guy out there saying I stalked him, ask him how many names he knows for me, and then tell him that I only ever knew him by a pseudonym. 5/5

I suspect he thought he was keeping tabs on some dangerous predator who might "claim another victim". Thing is, I'm asexual, and I never wanted to serve him that way. He was just another social context in which I had to pretend to enjoy cybersex. 4/5

I have noticed that "pervert" still functions as a form of disposability even in relationships with people who profess ultra-liberal sexual ethos. A certain paranoid intuition tells me he kept tabs on me. I suspect he decided I was a dangerous pervert. 3/5

He's one of those people who extracted cybersexuality from me. I had to perform erotically in order to be interesting enough to be his friend. It hurt, but I was impressed by him, so I did it anyways. And in the end, when he was tired of me, I was the one to be punished for it. 2/5

I mostly don't have suspects for the whispering campaign that followed me across the internet, but one of them was a guy who I actually suspect accused me of stalking him. Now, I can tell you I never verified anything he told me, and I have no idea what he's been up to since we lost contact... 1/5

Time to put on a more pleasant book: Traitors, Thieves and Liars by Rick Griffin. I've read this before and I see no reason I won't enjoy the audiobook.

It repeats a lot of mythology and occasionally editorializes about the illogic of people the author disagrees with while never really establishing the author's own logical grounding. 4.5 stars on Audible. I'm capable of liking theology, but this is getting a 1 star review from me.

In case anyone wants to know what book I'm listening to, it's The Prince of Darkness: Radical Evil and the Power of Good in History, by Jeffrey Burton Russel.

He derides as illogical all questioning of the evil of the great evil in Christian mythology, but his "logic" is rooted in this thought-stopping linguistic prescription. He approaches the moral culpability of God in one of the earlier chapters, but he wards it off by reciting theological excuses.

It's an entire book about the theological history of the contemplation of evil! He just defines Satan as evil and that's enough for him. He mentions it twice so far, and it's just the same argument. Satan is evil by definition, therefore all questioning of that is facially incomprehensible.

This historian has repeated his argument that it's nonsense to call Satan good or God evil because those just aren't how the words are defined. This linguistic argument is bafflingly ignorant. He acts like he can't understand anything based on questioning the goodness of God or the evil of Satan.

Actually, no. If he's got a distinct bias between Catholicism and Protestantism, I missed it. Unusually, he also seems to respect Islam, and he has praised some strains of Judaism without condemning any. He reserves his ire for satanism and atheism, which is apparently worse than any of these.

He's so stupidly credulous. Earlier in the book, he suggests that medieval monks claiming to be physically assaulted by devils should be taken as evidence of uncertain value. That sounds great, right, but he contrasts it with the common academic stance of regarding it as evidence of NO value.

Oh god, this historian is kind of an idiot. He recounts as evidences of grave evil among relatively recent satanism as 1) the authoring of vile fictions by satanists, which must therefore indicate depraved character, and 2) the ludicrous claims of a christian infiltrator to a supposed satanic cult.
