I hope my worries and fears diminish over time and grinding the videogame feels more enjoyable in 2026 than just logging in to a Melvor idle simulator.

There are some silver linings, albeit a lot of fear and rumination.

I'm headed into 2026 with a new job in the same industry I was in, with a better job title and benefits.

Unemployment gifted me a lingering fear that this, too, will all be taken away from me, and what then?

& getting laid off has really challenged the strong sense of belief in myself that I'm a capable, smart, human-being.

While I wasn't thrown out of the airplane with no parachute, the sense that time is ticking felt like perpetual tinnitus and a commentary on my sense of cog-value.

I think 2025 was my hardest year in life to date, resulting in some fundamental brain chemistry alterations.

I dated someone I felt excited about, which ended abruptly. Finding closure to that to stop the infinite brain loops has been so tough. Into a 7-month layoff, two weeks after that.

2025. What could have been if I weren't unemployed for 7 months and trained Herblore.

2026 won't be exciting either. Focused on the new job and further career development, fitness, and recouping relocation costs. More serious OSRS gains in Q2/Q3.

First day of gainful employment at the job site. I miss my nagging notifications, contracts are ready.
