Why a B.C. mill imported U.S. pulp, then announced it was folding When Domtar Corporation announced it would be shuttering a Vancouver Island pulp mill and laying off 350 workers, it came as little surprise to those who knew the company was losing millions of dollar...

In the political chaos of yday, this got lost:
350 mill workers on Vancouver Island are getting laid off

CTV News has learned the company's been importing pulp from the US to keep operating since it couldn't source enough in BC

John Rustad removed as B.C. Conservative leader, party says Embattled B.C. Conservative leader John Rustad has been removed from his post, the party announced Wednesday.

BC politics, for those who don't live here, can best be summarized as πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

A couple hours ago he insisted he wasn't going anywhere!

That posting makes no sense at all

Whoever input the prompts for that has never been a journalist

Playing catch up: Health-care workers urge B.C. to provide free nasal naloxone British Columbia was the first province to grapple with the lethality of toxic drugs, but is now lagging behind Ontario and Quebec in providing a free, easy-to-use antidote.

Unlike ON & QC, overdose antidote Naloxone is only free in injectable form in BC

Frontline healthcare workers are urging BC to make the easy-to-use inhalable form (which lasts 2x longer) free NOW

TIL: Govt doesn't track how many doses are thrown out as expired(!)

I just spent 10 days hanging out in Montreal and it was further confirmation Vancouver can be so much cooler and more interesting than it already is

Case in point: this is Crew Collective & Cafe, an old bank with a cafe and bar, plus co-working space (for rent by the hour or day)
It was such a vibe

Calls grow to re-examine B.C.’s automatic property tax exemptions In the city of Vancouver alone, $1 billion worth of property is occupied by private and independent schools, while the region has hundreds of places of worship, charities, and even a β€œcult” that enjoy...

Should we reconsider who gets automatic property tax exemptions in British Columbia?

Perhaps a community benefits assessment for places of worship?

How about private schools? They sit on $1B of assessed land in Vancouver alone

Some food for thought here:
