IMO that is the BEST way to handle releases for FNF mods, it prevents stuff like Infernadise from happening. Vs Retrospecter had so much potential, but the desire to release the whole package at once stunted everything.

In a way I'd still call them "official", as in it's the most respected modern incarnation of the character, and the one new people are introduced to. It's not that it's the only iteration of the character, but the one that most people see as the "original". Because JC's version is just garbage.
