Math teacher and nerd for math pedagogy! A mom to two teens. Love being outside in nature!
I love this!!

Saying โwe can do hard thingsโ.
Designing tasks that have natural progression and increase in complexity.
Being there with an helpful push/question, or better yet highlight a successful student to help them.
#mathstoday I am presenting optimization using a MathMedic lesson involving LaCroix cans. Iโm also using a well-loved Desmos activity I created on rational functions. #iteachmath #MTBoS

I post answers to problem sets at the same time I assign the work. Giving students access to answers on a regular basis is very helpful for them. I donโt need to be the โgate-keeperโ of answers esp w AI solvers available.
My math teacher friends! Fun stuff to share with students on Monday! Some MATH for 2025: 1. 2025 itself is a PERFECT square: 45ยฒ = 2025 2. It is a product of two squares, namely: 9ยฒ ร 5ยฒ = 2025 3. It is the sum of THREE squares, namely: 40ยฒ + 20ยฒ + 5ยฒ = 2025 4. The last perfect square? 1936 44ยฒ = Year 1936 5. It is the sum of the cubes of all the digits from 1 to 9: 1ยณ + 2ยณ + 3ยณ + 4ยณ + 5ยณ + 6ยณ + 7ยณ + 8ยณ + 9ยณ = 2025 6. It is also the squared sum of all the numbers from 1 to 9: (1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9)ยฒ=2025
Making the rounds on teacher FB right now. Yes, this is what teachers do on our holidays ๐. #MathChat

Thank you!
I looked for the Mathigon puzzle this year and canโt find it.
Does anyone have info on that? @amplify @desmos #iteachmath
I like to post these in class for my students.
Hello! Iโm from Ohio.
Happy to find #mtbos friends here!
Maybe โweโ are those people now.
I donโt always open this app, but like others I think Iโm transitioning here.
Letโs create it! (I donโt teach stats though so thatโs going to be hard for me to replyโฆ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ)
We need a discrete courseโฆ We have a Market Math course that kids enjoy around the stock market.

03.03.2024 17:57 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Back in years 1-4 I started in geometry. I loved it and think Iโve got a strong background there. Now w Desmos and geogebra, thereโs so many great resources. Thanks for sharing your resources!
Iโm a bit anxious about the discipline and the need for more structure compared to my 12th graders.๐ฌ
Hi all! Hope to connect w my Twitter math people!!
I might get classes of 10th grade geometry next year๐ณ๐ฌ. Iโve had 11/12th Precalc/Calc for about 16 years.
I need best strategies to be firm and hold this accountable. (Discipline is my weakness)
What do you love about 10th Geom?
