please do not ignore the gutters when you're making comics, if you decide to not have spaces between panels you really need to know what you're doing and be doing it intentionally to achieve a good effect, otherwise 9 times out of 10 you'd be better of having a blank space between your panels

The person is stopped by someone else, who accusingly points while they say "You! Justify your happiness to me!"

The accosting person says "Debate me no-". They are cut off by the person in the trans shirt saying "No thank you!" as lasers shoot from their eyes, exploding the head of the other character in a cartoonish fashion.

The accosting person stands, alive but expressionless as their headless torso smolders. The person in the trans shirt walks away, a stupidly happy grin still present.

I ended up just hiding the whole comment chain cuz this is just how social media is now, they were never going to say "Oh, I see, there's nothing to worry about", they were only trying to validate themselves on why they engaged with media that way.

Yeah, this was on FA where multiple people started down this path of "what if a neighbor's child looks in the window", cuz me just replying "there's no children around" made them feel like they had to defend their point. They started blaming red-light districts, it was weird and very puritanical lol

Yeah that's generally my issue with a lotta 2D zelda, plenty of dungeon puzzles I'm 'solving' five or six times just cuz I'm lost and they respawned everything . 💀

The documentation about these games is so scattered i legit wasn't sure I was doing the Linked Game thing right until I actually started into the second game, even the manual was confusing. Nintendo sure had a lot of faith in kids' ability to figure things out back then!!

Out of curiosity, how did *you* experience the whole 'linked game' system as a kid? Was that a thing you knew about going in? I thought at first it was supposed to be a social "exchange codes with a friend" thing but it seems like it only works if you play both yourself?

Conspiracy side note but the games kept reminding me of Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga?? Like, obviously those games are super Zelda inspired, but stuff like the skeleton ship capsized in the desert has me like... is there some direct callback to the Oracle games here???

Overall, these are one of the few GB games I've really enjoyed playing. GB was always a little before my time, and you can feel where the design butts up against the hardware limitations (my soul for a shoulder button to use items) but damn i'm excited to play Minish Cap now lol

so they can say "It was Twinrova! Those witches that definitely died!" just had me like 'h u h'-- like I guess this is the Zelda experience, there's some vague lip-service that the games are connected, but that idea falls apart when examine it closely. Totk certainly had that problem, too. 😭

One critique tho, the callbacks to N64 Zelda felt kinda overly brand-safe and shoehorned in a lot of the times. These games' settings felt pretty strong on their own, I loved the Tokay/Subrosians, and I would *die* for those animal companions- So the game sidelining its own antagonists--

It's also wild just how unknown these games are, maybe cuz they were too similar to Awakening and coming in on the tail end of the GB's life cycle? The two-game structure feels like it nixes the idea of a full remake, cuz you know Nintendo would want $60 for each of them lol

The linked-game/secrets stuff is truly wild and fun to engage with when you've got both games for 'free' through Nintendo Online and can easily jump back and forth, but I imagine that must've been kinda controversial at the time cuz what do you meeean I can't get the true ending until game 2
