sorry if this is hijacking. but, as another black fem, i really resonated with what you said here.

a focus on togetherness and allowing others to pick up your strength when you fall was a big part of my oc's stories. i know i'm strong enough to get through anything the world throws at me alone. i, however, shouldn't have to be.

i think that's why dawntrail's messaging (of the first half) of togetherness and understanding of those different to you always feels more resonant to me and my characters.

dilon and demetria are strong enough to face adversity, but Black women often face that entirely alone.
