There was no shortage of viewers to begin the show. It tailed off tremendously after people decided they didn't like it. If Skeleton Crew is good, people will watch. If its not, then it will just be another series Disney didn't get right. After the Acolyte, the bar isn't high.

The writing is the basis of any show- what you seem to be saying is that somehow Im responsible for talking about and acknowledging the pre-hatred, rather than the actual quality of the show. With a budget like this, they could have gotten the best writers, but not with this plot or lack thereof.

Again, you are making bad arguments. There is all of zero you've said that makes this show's writing any better. Again, the plot was lifted from 3's Company i.e. entirely reliant on easily cleared up miscommunications to drive ALL of it. That again, is simply poor writing.

agreed. 3's company style sitcom miscommunications drove the entire plot of the Acolyte. No arguments or justifications can fix that- there was zero of that in ANY Jedi anything before this.

The 'rest of the Jedi' didn't act this way- the whole idea of the prequels was that Palpatine was forcing the Jedi into roles they didn't want and weren't suited for- even then- they did not act this way.

Lets get this straight- what you are saying is the pre-hatred for the show caused it to be written like an episode of Three's Company- where easily cleared up, misunderstood communication drives the entire plot? Yeesh, no, its the poor writing silly.

Cant speak for anyone else. What I saw was poorly written characters whose motivations were non existent, poor understanding of Jedi and poorer understanding of how fantasy universes work. Anything else is not what Im talking about. I liked Ahsoka a million times more.

2...a fantasy universe is held together by the rules of its creator. When those rules are broken, so is the illusion. This is a basic tenet of sci fi/fantasy writing.

Incorrect. However, even if that were true, you'd need to give a reason for why they were flawed to begin with. Its simply incredibly poor writing from start to finish. Poor understanding of the Jedi. Poor writing to say 'we cant tell the council' also extended to telling ANYONE. Awful awful

Its tough to trust this review when you don't seem to understand that the Acolyte was terrible, having nothing to do with culture wars, and everything to do with it not understanding how the Jedi are supposed to operate- i.e. they are not poorly trained, overly impulsive, undisciplined cops.
