Honestly I just forgot and tried to send a DM and was like "why is nobody showing up on here"

I promise you that "having your styles and components collocated" is not worth the upgrade and maintenance costs. Also, you can do that with inline styles anyway if you really want

JS-based CSS frameworks are not the way - take it from someone with a lot of experience of Styled Components. You shouldn't have to do a giant JS upgrade across your entire app to take advantage of new native features of HTML and CSS. So it's nice to see TW offer a light touch approach.

Friends at Last: Tailwind & CSS…whodathunkit?! Freely compose UI using native CSS variables & syntax, Tailwind design tokens in CSS, and Tailwind utility classes.

Tailwind appears to have had a rewrite and now integrates much better with actual CSS. I'm honestly quite impressed. thathtml.blog/2025/08/tail...

Really sad about the end of ReactJS Girls. It was the meet-up that launched my speaking career and was reliably full of lovely people.

Been seeing an uptick in what are clearly vibe-coded PRs. On the surface this seems great -- more contributors!

But in the reality it's often AI slop that the person hasn't reviewed and instead the burden of review is on us, the maintainers -- which is a horrible trade.

State of HTML 2025 Take the State of HTML survey

If you haven't already, do fill in the State of HTML survey, especially if you are a member of an underrepresented group so they get a diverse range of responses. Apparently browser vendors use this to inform what they do next πŸ‘€

For those that are trying to learn more advanced JavaScript, currying is when you take a function and then serve it with a creamy sauce and some spices typically with meat, fish or vegetables. Hope this helps!

I say this as someone who has been active in many women's and underrepresented genders spaces within tech: they absolutely have a place but they are not the solution to the entrenched problems in the industry.

Floorp is firefox-based by the looks of things. I'd expect that to support everything that FF does, unless they forked before nesting support was built and didn't keep up with the specs?

Why are you still using Sass variables out of interest?

13.07.2025 16:29 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I need mixins anyway to avoid copying and pasting huge amounts of repeated code across themes, so I guess this is moot because I'll be using Sass for a while longer
