Thought I might brighten your day with this ray of sunshine from 14yo:

"I messaged everyone I knew saying I hadn't had a shower this year a minute BEFORE midnight."

(I would like to state here and now that I am only *technically* related to him.)

4/ I told 14yo about it and he has now thrown in some other curveballs:

- Try dead-eye staring at someone the whole way down.

- Walk towards other folks without swinging your arms for no reason.

Feeling so enthused about getting to work today... And of course open to other suggestions.

3/ How far down is it ok to to start a conversation? It's particularly neat if you start a normal volume one two-thirds of a corridor away, so you can both say "Sorry?" For a hundred yards.

2/ When should you acknowledge someone coming towards you so it doesn't turn weird with having to work out whether to break eye contact or think of something to say? Make is to wave and grin as early as possible to make it super weird, obviously.

1/ How long should you wait for someone when holding the door? I will wait for someone who is halfway down the corridor, but then the person feels they have to rush and apologise. Immediately awkward. Brilliant.

There's an enormously long corridor at the site where I'm doing contract work atm. It's crazy long - like you can barely make out people's faces at the far end.

The best thing about it is the potential for major awkwardness. For example: 🧵

I made pecan pie, and had a load of leftover mix from having assumed my pie dish was the size of the Atlantic.

I have now made up for this by looking at an empty jar of Biscoff Spread and going "I think that'll just fit."

Year 5. A fab teacher said "I love having him in the class! We have such great chats. He used to sit in front of me, but I had to move him to the back because I wasn't getting any work done."
