we’re going to get the first expack when we’ve run out of story and lvling to do in this base f2p trial, no mounts or action house are kinda w/e since im not getting into the latter as a new player tbh hhh need to hold on to money this month

our gw2 mount trial expired and we’re still on the f2p so we’re running around everywhere like defeated wenches…..hodhsk its not enough of an inconvenience bc of the fast travel points to get a paid account yet!!!

last thing gkdhdk its not that i expected this game to be easy or anything, i had 0 expectation beyond ‘ok it came out in 2011’, you defenety need to just give in to whimsy and shelf things for later if you dont immediately understand them or it gets overwhelming quickkk fksgsj

and your kit changes based on your weapon, if i have a staff i get fireball and meteor type spells, alot more caster wizard,but if i equip a dagger my spels across all 4 stances change to be more meele focused, the entire kit just changes which has been fun and exciting for looting a new weapon type

the combat is really interesting tbh theres alot of things going on even in the base game early lvls, and it has that vibe of ‘tip of the iceberg’ , i have this fire wall ability that makes projectiles from others catch fire for example….

i was getting away with fireballing everything and occasional water use if we needed a quick heal, this dungeon was actually the first time i found myself swapping to the others for their debuffs, its interesting….but maybe not the best new player class gisgsj

elementalist, its kinda what it sounds, i have 4 stances for fire/water/lightning/earth and i they each have a debuff they can apply, fire is the pure dps-y stance and water is more support with some heals, im defenetly supposed to stance dance based on the tooltips but….

the cities are actually popping off so hard my fps drops sometimes from all the people and their shiny armor and mounts in one spot hhh

gw2 is alot more alive in low lvl areas than i thought, well we're lv 40 ig like halfway to max at this point but there's a solid 4-5 people at every hub we go to, i didnt expect it to be dead or anything, i didnt know what to expeck tbh kfgk

we reached the snow zone but then had to log off for the day 😔🙏

jkffgkjdf she picked a mesmer which is turning out to be quite that as we see it lvl, she summons clones and all the spells are pink and beautiful dfkg

also the dungeons story advanced after the first clear and it turned into a different dungeon for the 2nd run?? the lvl of it went up too so we didnt make it past the first area but that was interesting

we got pointed towards a dungeon by the story and we were excited to see it had a ''story mode'' , we assumed it'd be like every story mode ever...turns out it had hands.......alot of hands

we've also seen the incredible things that can be achieved

it was not intentional in fact we kinda clikc the randomize dyes button till something resonates.............i guess you truly do make the same choices and are drawn to the same options in every game ever subconsciously

idk when it all became a competition almost, my supervisor always kept this private and only if you consistently missed stuff that was more important, now its just some public ffa callout culture about it like idgaf man even if someone missed a shelf ill wipe it how much does it take

Half our group chat is people sending pics of like a barely dusty shelf and going ‘who cleaned here yesterday??’ like idk the energy is pissing me off its not that deep

work is so annoying our supervisor checks our work and privately addresses it with us if needed but the last month or so everyone is constantly trying to catch everyone else out idk im exhausted and cba

this 2nd zone is a very nice vibe...the ambient sounds and music are really nice

also a surprisingn amount of voice acting for a 2010 game or whatever, random speech bubbles from environment npcs conversations, quests, exploration points all voiced ??? this might be crafted with love....

theres alot of jumping puzzles in the open world that disable your mount, and then nyou get your personal story it seems every few levels so far, idk this is just the base game but im really enjoying the vibes, it just wants you to explore these vast maps and get xp for it ! !! !
