Working to bring about a technological solution to the bad debate problem. Traditional formats for fundamental reasons don't meet the common sense requirements for a great debate. Demagogues often win. The Big Lie lives.

Ayn Rand was an atheist! While it is possible he is too ignorant to know that about his supposed idol, it seems truth is not uppermost in the mind of the reputed plagiarist and recipient of Russian state funding.

"The Grecians and Romans were strongly possessed of the spirit of liberty but not the principle, for at the time they were determined not to be slaves themselves, they employed their power to enslave the rest of mankind." -Thomas Paine, Crisis V. Paine's admonition was ignored by the hypocrites.

Thought on documenting things: chest straps to hold phones are quite cheap. Also, relatively recent used phones are inexpensive and wont be such a 'my whole life is on there' hassle or privacy risk if confiscated or smashed

Could Iran buy nuclear weapons from North Korea? If Iran sought to rebuild its damaged nuclear facilities and sprint for a bomb, it could try to turn to North Korea for assistance.

Thinking outside the box.

"The actions yesterday - in which FBI
Special Agents were terminated and then reinstated shortly after - highlight the chaos that occurs when long-standing policies and processes are ignored. An Agent simply being assigned to an investigation and conducting it appropriately within the law should never be grounds for termination. Director Patel has disregarded the law and launched a campaign of erratic and arbitrary retribution. FBI Agents deal in facts, and we urge Director Patel to do the same. When leadership abandons due process, it doesn't just erode trust - it makes the American public less safe. FBI Agents must be free to focus on protecting the American people, not fear losing their jobs over third party social media posts." (edited)

Statement from the FBI Agents Association after Director Kash Patel fired, unfired then re-fired several agents who had worked on cases targeting Trump and allies.

Complete shambles.

Pretty scary that a dottering man who wrongly thinks Russia and China are testing nukes, who doesn’t know which part of his government is in charge of US nukes, and assumes they can be tested β€œimmediately” has sole authority to order their launch.

Wish I could be there! I'm currently reading "A book forged in hell: Spinoza's Scandalous Treatise and the Birth of the Secular Age." Recently, while doing unrelated research, I found that under Thomas Paine's editorship, a 1776 review of da Costa's Autobiography was published in the Penn. Magazine

Funny you put it that way, because presumably (IF he is a sincere believer in at least HIS version of Catholicism), which is highly questionable, then the unspoken part may be that if she doesn't, he believes she will burn in hell forever.

I kind of wish we could have a straightforward midterm election where every House and Senate race is about the single basic question of whether to impeach Trump and remove him from office for outrageous and unconstititional abuse of power. Let's see where the country stands. It would be clarifying.
