Sonic is visiting Knuckles, who is lying in a hospital bed. Knuckles looks awful. He looks kind of dogshit. He's just lying there with his jaw hanging wide open with a cavernous black void within. His head is upturned, and you can only make out his left eye, which is narrow, squinting, nearly closed. Sonic is looking at him with a half-hearted wave, with deep concern and a certain emotional pain, like he's not surprised but uncomfortable with the situation nonetheless. Knuckles gloves are bandaged, and their spikes are distinctly missing.

Dialogue reads:
Sonic: "Hey Knux. How you holding up, buddy?"
Knuckles: "furlington boat cactory"
Sonic: "i'll miss ya, man."
