My photo collage shows four hippo statuettes made of Egytian blue faience, a ceramic material made of ground quartz. Their bright-blue shiny bodies are decorated in black with depictions of Nile river plants such as water weed and lotus flowers. This decoration depicts their marsh habitat as well as having various layers of symbolism associated with regeneration. For example lotus flowers open in the morning and close at night, symbolising rebirth. Blue faience hippos have been found in Middle Kingdom tombs of high ranking officials. It’s thought they were placed in the tombs to aid the rebirth of the deceased. Hippo top left - Walking hippo shown in profile facing right. Height 11.5 cm, Length 21 cm. Egyptian Museum, Cairo. We watched it on Friday and it’s kinda weird, and I think I like it.

Halloween movie choice was Final Destination Bloodlines. Omg so good! Exactly what I expected, fantastic entry in the franchise.

Work was stupid busy, just like the last 2 weeks. Then class was fixing issues left & right, so midnight is bedtime.

I estimate another 5-6hrs of knitting to do tomorrow then my shawl will be done.

As a treat I can either cast on a ridiculous hat or a ridiculous sweater when done.

It had some good bits, but I have mostly regrets about watching 28 Years Later.

Thighs! Not things

Woman in knit class this morning was whispering lyrics to her friends because she didn’t want the whole table to hear, and we all got soooooo quiet to hear her whisper about wood and things and watch her waggle her eyebrows.

I just heard about it as a known bug.
