One that absolutely drives me up the wall. Using threatened, attempted or implied SA as a way to show a character is evil. There's so, so many better way of doing it, but it's easy and impactful without much effort. Lazy writing really.

There are of course caveats to that, such as if the thing is a direct sequel or a remake of the original thing, but even then you still have talk about what it did right or wrong.

Came up in a stream I was watching last night, so I thought I would share:

Your critique of something CANNOT be "It's not like *other thing I like*"! Sure, you can compare aspects of them, how you think one did it better, but you have to judge them on their own merits and failings.

Minor thing that nonetheless annoys the fuck out of me is videos that say "The Devs knew/didn't think you'd try this."

Because it's almost always a very normal interaction for the former, or something added specifically because they knew you'd do it for the latter.
