Open letter to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese MP from Australian former diplomats As pressure mounts on the Australian Government over Palestine, a group of highly respected Australians, who have represented our nation overseas, have gone straight to the top with a letter to the pr...

It’s time to recognise Palestine and drop the fantasy of a two state solution.

These Australian diplomats have enormous experience and wisdom. It is time for Prime Minister Albanese and Senator Wong to listen to real experts & change direction

I hope that NSW Premier Chris Minns, the NSW Police & all those who objected to the Palestine March yesterday now raise their voices to make the same comments about the annual Sydney Marathon. I’ll bet they won’t. Yet it will close the harbour bridge and clog up the city.

There is no need for Australia to increase defence spending. We are a small pacific country. China doesn’t need to attack us, we sell them whatever they want. We are of no strategic interest to Russia. Our biggest risk is America. It’s time to distance ourselves from the USA

It’s time for Australia to stop talking about Defence spending. America wants Australia to spend more on Attack funding. Australia is not under threat from any country. Our biggest risk is aligning with America when it attacks under countries. We must be non-aligned

I object to my taxes being used to pay Jillian Segal to try & stop Australians speaking up about genocide & ethic cleansing in Gaza. Australia is a tolerant country with a strong sense of truth & justice. Her proposals are vile & anti-Australian

It looks like it will take years but which time the damage will have been done and it won’t be possible to turn it around

How spending more on defence harms the nation Anthony Albanese is taking a battering from ill-informed commentators for thinking Australia can be defended by spending a little over 2% of GDP on its military forces.

How spending more on defence harms the nation. Too right it does

The next time someone tells you that the quality of aged care has improved, tell them they’re dreaming. 14,934 reportable incidents in just three months (October to December 2024).

To get a feel for the whole picture, multiply by 4 😟

It’s one of the joys of being “retired” but still working. I walk in whatever part of the day has the best weather. You should try it!

Although you’ll need more precision in your analysis. Women in the branches are make the scones for men to eat. This allows both sexes to participate in ways that play to their strengths

A case study in how not to manage a Commonwealth program. I am on the board of MOW NSW and know first hand how much damage this did to Meals on Wheels. No one has been held to account. Today’s Canberra Times.

Yes it’s possible that senior public servants have never been held to account for such blatant misconduct. Certainly this “Future Fit” bungle coming after Robodebt suggests it’s more systemic now.

Yes I worked with Cres via the Westmead connection for more than a decade and I taught the whole opening day of the NSW Management for Clinicians at Terrigal for even longer than that. He was a wonderful man and his international work was outstanding. Gone too soon

Yes I’ve been following it on the PC website & I emailed them with some comments. I got no reply. Unless something changes, I can’t see much coming out of it except the usual low hanging fruit

Maybe they should stop being the Liberals and become the Conservative Opposition Party. Because that’s where they will stay for a long time at this rate

Is it just coincidental that the Nationals walked out of the Coalition just days after the Liberals appointed their first woman leader? Asking for a friend
