—— The storm outside rages on and the sound of rain hitting the roof is undeniably loud in the otherwise quiet space.

There's still the targets up and the scoreboard with Owen and Mel's name on it. A slight smile.
It lasts only a few seconds before disappearing.

A hand runs down her face, slow and methodical, pulling bits of her skin with it. The vision in her eye blurs briefly until her hand is down at her side. Abby blinks a few times then sighs deeply and falls into one of the nearby chairs she's made up at the Aquarium.

Sighs heavy. This is nice and it helps calm down the craziness in her mind.
“Ugh, I’ve been good, nearly bedridden trying to heal from an injury. At least I’m able to catch up on my rest.”

“Hey,” she returns the smile and slowly leans up against them.
She’d been cooped up in bed catching up on some rest.

—its head. It screeched and let out a few clicks before it died out. Abby slowly let the body down and pulled her blade out.

She glanced at Vi and signed.

Abby follows along and matches Vi’s pace. Her grip on the handle of her blade tightens and she slowly steadies her breathing, exhaling as quietly as she can.

Moves to one right beside them….. aaaaand….

An arm goes around the clickers throat and the blade is shoved into the side of —

“We need to be as quiet as we can. They’re kinda like bats and use echolocation of sorts. There’s not many so if we take them out together I think we’ll be okay. A swift hit to the head usually does the trick.”

She reaches into her boot and pulls out one of her —

Hoping they don’t run into any but… that’s wishful thinking. For now Abby’s on high alert and moving through debris and shrubs.
It’ll take most of the day to get to the docks and just before they do there’s a small group of infected; clickers.

Abby huffs quietly and brings her hand up then —

She liked Vi. She felt… safer with her there but she’s not too sure why.

Abby manages a smile. “Don’t worry, if we’re quick and quiet enough we’ll be okay. From what I can tell they can’t cross large bodies of water and the aquarium has just that around it.”

A grin soon crosses her lips as she tries to break the ice. “Try and keep up yeah? First one back to base —

“Yeah, they’re basically monsters infected by some virus. They’re… pretty fast, strong and terrifying. It’s easy to get infected by them.”
Sighs.

“That’s why it’s easier to stick in groups and travel mostly during the day.”

They can leave at any time if the aquarium isn’t for ‘em. Munches and nods heading down the same path she came up from.
“Let’s hope we don’t run into any infected.” Weary sigh.

She’s tired of having to run from them especially with a heavy bag.

Munches on some jerky herself while putting her backpack back on and fixing the straps.

“Gotta get going before it gets dark. It’s not safe.” Pause. “Hell it’s not safe even during the day.”
