First book I truly loved: BEARS IN THE NIGHT.

Favorite early childhood book that's had the most lasting influence: I HAD TROUBLE IN GETTING TO SOLLA SOLLEW.

Given my own later creative work, it's worth noting that the latter book is, among other things, a tale of Weird Luck.

Since Peter Parker is canonically a working-class kid born & raised in Queens, Spider-Man should have an obvious Queens accent. Actors who play him in movies & TV adaptations should do the accent, and in comic books the characters from Manhattan should occasionally make disparaging remarks about it.

Bianca loves humans. She finds them endlessly fascinating and entertaining, sometimes absurd, sometimes impressive, sometimes scary. She's awed by their creativity, and is a great fan of human literature (her own species doesn't make things).

Reed Richards is an untrustworthy and unlikeable character who works better as a villain than a hero. Marvel missed a great opportunity at the end of the Civil War storyline in 2007: Sue should've dumped him for good, triggering his mental breakdown and full transition into permanent villainhood.
