Just like a tech stack always limits your choices simply by choosing one tech stack over the other. So does solving a business problem a certain way. Established businesses always have a 'path dependency' that smaller players can exploit simply because they're not tied to a solution yet.

I always look at the person first. There's so many bad takes out there, it's too time-intensive to carefully consider an idea without considering the source. There's a reason why most talks start with a 'who am i?' slide.

Something tells me this has less to do with tools, and more about building something people want.

Startups founders avoid competition like the plague when counterintuitively, competition is good. You want to avoid serious competition but by niching down or building a unique product, not by solving a unique problem. Most valuable problems have already been discovered.

Mindset shift for dev entrepreneurs - "Embrace plenty, not scarcity" . Customers are going to get their problem solved one way or another, whether using your product or someone else's. But they're out there and there's plenty of them.

When you stop learning?

I think ultimately, no one knows but your potential users. Business advice, sure. But no one knows if an ideas is actually good except users.
