We are sad to report that longtime Blue Peter Editor Biddy Baxter has died at the age of 92. We salute a true pioneer, who navigated changing times in the television industry with instinct, tenacity and style.

Ray Brooks was born on 20 April 1939 and passed away on 9 August 2025 at the age of 86. He was a television and film actor. Brooks is also a voice actor on animated series and many commercials. Ray is very well known as the voice of Mr Benn in the legendary BBC children's series of the 1970s. Other television roles include Big Deal, King Rollo, Coronation Street, Taxi!, Cathy Come Home, The Avengers, Danger Man, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), Doomwatch, Gideon's Way, Growing Pains, Two Thousand Acres of Sky, This Morning, Secret History, Des O'Connor Tonight, Horizon, Time Signs, Paul Daniels, A Question of Sport, Juke Box Jury, Wogan, Woof, Running Wild, The Pickwick Papers, Rumpole of the Bailey, Death of an Expert Witness, Two People, Jackanory, Your Move, Rooms, Oranges & Lemons, Pathfinders, Softly Softly, Softly Softly Task Force, Z Cars, The Expert, Boy Meets Girl, Public Eye, Trapped, Emergency Ward 10, The Power Game, Julius Caesar, The Secret Kingdom and EastEnders.
