Obviously. In the US you live to work and the person with the most things and money when they die wins. In Europe and most parts of the world you work to live and prioritize time with family and friends. It helps that we have laws here about work hours, mandated paid vacation/parental leave etc

Republicans don't want a properous USA. They need a few poor states where they can have their voter base and some successful states they can point to and claim that they're bad for "everyday" people. That way they can keep the pretend differences between people without dealing with the real ones

It's all built in the US system. As soon as one full-time job doesn't pay enough to live off - rent, food, insurance - your system is screwed. And to need more than 1 job to raise your children is honestly medieval shit. Children need their parents (or parent) around. If SNAP helps that, it's good.
