And Remy in Ratatouille.
Both which were pretty funny casting choices when you were familiar with how blue his standup material was.

10.11.2025 22:12 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yeah you can reduce bones for LODs. Unreal has it built in for their skeletal mesh LOD generator and it works very well. And I did it for Unity back in the day using Simplygon. Not sure if their new LOD generator supports it, but the LOD component should.

08.11.2025 00:23 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0And the extra fun part about this was how I had to contact US support, but since they detected I was calling/connecting from the EU most of their systems would redirect me to the EU website or support hotline. Had to get a VPN just to access my account page.
07.11.2025 15:26 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I ditched Maya when Autodesk charged me 3 times for the same license. I had just moved from the US to EU and during account transfer it charged me once for the US, once for EU, and one more time for good measure I guess. Just completely emptied my bank account. Took 2 months to refund.

03.10.2025 17:18 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0My guess is that in the Mesh Cleanup settings you have enabled the option to check for Faces With Zero Mapping Area (sp) which just means No UVs, in addition to the option to delete problematic faces. And your mesh probably has no UVs coming out of zbrush.

And how «textures» gets used by QA and producers to describe any visual error. Be it a broken shader, incorrect lighting, malformed meshes, etc, and I’ve even seen animations called broken textures.
This results in confusion in the art department. And for the bug to get assigned to the wrong team.
For example the term «spaghetti code» became popular, but it was used to describe any feature that didn’t work cleanly with emergent use cases. Like your watermelons. This frustrated our programmers who felt blamed for writing sloppy code when the code was fine, it just had to catch up with design.
27.09.2025 08:04 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I agree, and I like that watermelon concept a lot. But it’s worth keeping in mind there is a negative version of this phenomenon; when a shorthand takes hold in the team which is misleading or wrong. Especially across disciplines.
