The biochemical organisation of the brain revealed through the use of fast whole-brain 3D proton MR spectroscopic imaging (MRSI). Fantastic work led by @fedlucchetti.bsky.social, based on a brain imaging technique developed by Antoine Delattre-Klauser! @fbm-unil.bsky.social @snf-fns.ch
As they are stepping down as the organizers of the ESCAP Research Academy, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to @paul-klauser.bsky.social and Alexis Revet for their great work over the years!
We're delighted to introduce our new Research Academy Organizing team: Koen Bolhuis, Assia Riccioni & Héloïse Young! They'll be in charge of our 2027 event which takes place on 22-23 June 2027 in Athens, prior to our ESCAP congress. Save the date!

And just like that, two days filled with an outstanding and engaging scientific content as well as networking and fun times, are coming to an end. A huge thanks to our Research Academy organizers @paul-klauser.bsky.social and Alexis Revet!
In the afternoon, the Research Academy started their group project. Watch this space - we will share more in due course!

Important #NODES updates🔥 (2/2)
We are now recruiting experts (human & animal researchers, clinicians etc) in the field of (psycho)neuroendocrinology that volunteer to fill our survey 📝
survey.questionstar.com/NODES-Delphi...
Results will be used as a starting point to develop the data structure.
Good news - the opening for a Research Officer role within our group is now open to all applicants!
Please apply if you would like to join a great team to help with recruitment and assessment on a large project linking MRI with psychopathology!

We are looking for a new PhD student to join our lab of Neuroepigenetics at EPFL! Interested in deciphering the epigenetic mechanisms of memory formation, storage and change?🧠🧬Check out the specifics here: graefflab.epfl.ch
5/5 This fiber stretches from forebrain to hindbrain, mirroring neural tube maturation. Intriguingly, these metabolic networks closely align with genetic co-expression and cytoarchitectonic patterns, highlighting a neurodevelopmental component.
4/5 In healthy subjects, averaging these matrices unveiled a striking pattern: nearby regions share similar metabolite profiles, distant ones differ, and they align with known functional modules. Moreover, a continuous gradient emerges, forming a “metabolic fiber”.
3/5 By parcellating the brain’s grey matter using Chimera github.com/connectomics... and correlating inter-regional metabolite profiles, we created a metabolic similarity matrix.
2/5 Everything started with the latest advances in whole-brain 3D proton MRSI doi.org/10.1002/nbm.... which enable to map five key metabolites (tNAA, Cr, Glx, Cho, Ins) across the entire brain in short acquisition times.
1/5 We are delighted to share our latest preprint on the construction of the brain metabolic connectome. t.co/2qZNrvvEar
