There were two ICE officers inside the courtrooms who would notify the officers sitting in the hallway when a case was dismissed 8:18 PM • 5/20/25 • 3.6K Views Lindsay Toczylowski@L_Toczylow....1h S... It appears the govt attys were moving to dismiss cases where people have been in US less than 2 years. By arresting them post-dismissal they will now try to put them in expedited removal proceedings and move towards deportations at lightning speed.

NEW: reports today from @l-toczylowski.bsky.social and others that ICE has begun efforts to dismiss cases pending in immigration court for less than two years — so that they can then immediately arrest the same people and put them through “expedited removal,” skipping the court process entirely.

Migrant encounters on the US-Mexico border at lowest levels in decades Border Patrol is finding fewer migrants along the southern border, as migrants further south wait to see what is to come with asylum in the U.S.

The number of migrants crossing the southern border continue to fall. Trump's elimination of pathways to petition for asylum and the militarization of the border has migrants in limbo. But this decline began last year, leading service provider in El Paso to shutter efforts.
