For days, we’ve been tracking the potential for periods of snow and frozen precipitation on Monday and Tuesday.

High temperature forecast for Saturday shows a lot of 60 and higher except in northern MD and near the chillier bay.

Warmest day of climatological winter on its final day? Maybe. DC needs 63 or higher. It'll be close.

Fewest days in the 60s in winter in more than a decade with four so far. Often see our first 70 already. That could come late next week.

Update on potentially wintry systems early next week:

A potential system Mon-Mon evening has trended drier. Too soon to say it won't snow, but that's possible. If it does snow, it's probably 1-2" at most.

CWG Live: Mild to warm with mainly bright skies the next few days Around 60 Saturday, but snow and a wintry mix remain in the forecast for Monday.

Mild today and springlike warmth for Saturday.

It doesn't last as we'll see temperatures dip again Sunday ahead of an early week wintry mix threat. Not a big storm but the focus on that is still Monday-early Tuesday but could linger beyond.

Snow or wintry mix is possible Monday-Monday night. The system doesn't look terribly strong, but could have enough moisture to produce accumulating snow if it comes close enough to give us precip. It could also miss to the south. No snow to a few inches seems like the potential range as of now.

1:30pm: Here is the last hour of radar. You can see showers increasing around DC. We’ll see occasional showers moving through the next few hours. They should diminish by around 6pm.

While there is little to no chance of impactful snow in the DC area Thursday, there is still a lack of model consensus as to exactly what will happen.

A period of steady rain mixed with a bit of wet snow north, just a chance of a few light showers, or the precip missing to the south are in play.

CWG Live: Iffy chance of precipitation tomorrow. Some wintry potential early next week. It’s uncertain if we get some rain, and maybe wet snow north of D.C., on Thursday, or if precipitation stays to our south.
