First Lights Books OBS: honestly, 4. And I’ll tell you why. It feels like these baristas claw their way to get this job in a highly visual bookstore that smells nice - they wear it with pride - a few months down the road, they realize they’re getting paid a non-living wage.

-a confabulist poet in Austin who believes I was rude to him because he misinterpreted my text tone and wouldn’t accept my tone clarification; the og conflict was over me saying “lmfao, you always act like it’s been such a long time since you got stoned, but it’s like once a week.” Tone: playful.
People who I think want to murder me:
-my neighbor who parked in my parking spot; I left a note politely asking not to do that. They left a counter-note refusing to walk 1 block 😂
-the big guy at Tillery who begrudgingly counts my massive plant orders & speaks in a high-pitched fake polite voice

re: ppl who only wear black & white: Wow, really taking some risks there. Way to live inside some narrow parameters so you always perfectly meet them.
Is this The Week??
I’ve asked so many demographics if it’s wrong for a white woman to rap about herbal tea. Answer: unclear.
An herbal tea rap written by Moi that nobody else on my sketch team wants to perform has become my LaCroix to bear
That AND I don’t know why we’re wasting time arguing about climate change when we already KNOW pollution harms people. We need to work on this regardless of anyone’s climate stance.
I see it as a positive that we’re still leveling the playing field: CIS men get to try stuff and make good, bad, & mid movies, albums, books… so do women and queer folks! 😄
“How do you do manual labor all day?” ask my friends.
“I dunno,” I say as I slurp my eighth matcha.
the biggest problem with polyamory is that it increases the odds you could be in a relationship with someone who writes personal essays
I wonder why people flat-top their sagebushes? The natural cloud shape looks so much cooler!

🙁 the one thing that gives me a small amount of hope is that this ruling was about a California law, a state famously tenacious in its legislative iterations - they may still find ways around this.

Fwiw, you’ve grown a lot since I’ve known you! Writing your own music, joining bands, joining neighborhood things. All good developments.
Interesting. You it dividing along gender, too??

Indeed, and a few others. All people with good hearts and wills! So that dissonance of will and action is part of why this gender question is coming up for me.
And before you worry, no, it’s not you @pvk.bsky.social 😇
I am really curious if/how gender plays into this resilient/determined way of behaving.
I’m sure it’s not a clean gender divide - I just can’t think of a single recent example of a woman friend who hasn’t been able to hold herself together enough to do what needs to be done.
I’ve been getting frustrated with some of the men in my life lately. So many times (including the current), I’ve had to pull myself together to figure out jobs, housing, and how to cope w/whatever political situation. Yet I see them crumbling at these upheavals. I don’t see this in my fem friends.
I like being at home because I have unlimited food there. Out here, I’m paying $12 for a thick slice of toast.
Bouncing between gossip-texting with my friend about the faux-spiritual Hare Krishnas in her town and reading about the life of Alfred, Lord Tennyson.
