... mostly though, it was how utterly incredible both bands were, but especially Rolo Tomassi.
The ethereal soundscapes they created on record emanated out, bolstered by Eva's vocals before being shattered by the crushing heaviness that followed from those stunning tracks.

It was glorious.

Coming out of lockdown those years ago, our first gig back was Rolo Tomassi and Devil Sold His Soul.

I bawled throughout the entire thing. Partly because I was so relieved to be at a gig again, something that is so integral to me that I thought I'd lost...

Honestly, they're such a phenomenal band and somehow manage to take their sound to a whole new level live.

They've really honed in & expanded on the ethereal aspect of their sound, balancing this with their visceral side. Still leaning into the intensity of their early releases but more targeted & less erratic.

The way they're able to add devastatingly beautiful tracks like amongst the chaos is stellar

Rolo Tomassi are a band who clearly make music out of love. Coming together when the time is right and not because a label demands another offering.

Each release is a labour of love, especially from Astraea onwards...

It's genuinely so stressful seeing him have a wobble 😭

Jasmine, Aaron and Nataliia are my other faves and I WILL fight for them 😭

Catching up on Bake Off and once again I'm stating that we must protect Toby at all costs 😭 he's too cute for this stress 😭 (although talking about Paul not giving out handies... if he won't, I will)

Rolo Tomassi are a criminally underrated band

Yeah, Where Myth Becomes Memory fixed my brain today - absolutely STUNNING album from start to finish.

Eva managing to perfectly master & balance her beautiful, soaring clean vocals with the most visceral screams and deliver the most devastating lyrics always astounds me.

So far today I've had my 'Sad Metalcore' playlist blasting with my earphones in and now I'm onto 'Where Myth Becomes Memory' by Rolo Tomassi
