All in all, quite happy about this signing and optimistic his present and future with us.
I’ve seen some concerns about his height but I think 6”1 isn’t necessarily a detriment. About Gvardiol’s height and perhaps he’ll grow a bit more.
Most important thing for me is how he moves for his size and in that department, Khusanov appears a well-tuned machine.
His passing and technical ability is quite good for his age. Not quite a unicorn but composed and has sufficient range of passing. Fires them off with authority.
Despite being a bit of a juggernaut on defense, he’s calm in possession and circulates the ball well. Simple but efficient. I like that.
Stay patient, composed. To use his brain more and his body less - if you know what I mean?
Something Walker couldn’t quite figure out and we see the effect now that his pace has diminished.
Much has been said about his athleticism and this is an intangible that truly stands out. He is a freak athlete, absolutely rapid.
However, he will need to learn to not let it be a crutch, defending or attacking, especially in moments of chaos.
He steps up and makes timely interceptions, showcasing a nice combo of intelligence and awareness. And his box defending is top.
I’ve seen a few comparisons to Ruben Dias and it’s an apt comparison.
Kid plays confident.
I like to see defenders who aren’t afraid to be proactive, instead of reactive. Many times, reacting means it’s already too late.
Khusanov, despite his young age, shows remarkable confidence in that regard.
He defends and moves well in space. A natural athlete with good balance. Seems to possess solid awareness of his and his teammates surroundings at all times.
Comfortable in the middle but with the pace and agility to cover channels.
With young defenders, I like to keep it simple by looking at the below criteria:
• positional/spatial awareness
• proactive defending
• reactions under pressure
• technical ability
• physical makeup
Khusanov checks out well in most, if not all.
He’s going to fit right in.
A warrior for the backline.
#SheikhScouts - "Rebuilding a Midfield Engine" is live.
We've seen the links to Zubimendi, Ederson, Wharton and more. But we look in need of 2, possibly even 3 more in upcoming windows.
Here are four U-23, "under the radar" players that caught my eye:

GAMEDAY.
Love it here.
Another scammer blues. Do not follow. Ticketmancity is NOT currently on this platform.
Scam account.
City isn’t on sky blue yet.
Please share the word.
Blues, I have spoken to Man City admin on X and they have confirmed that they are NOT ACTIVE on this platform.
Almost 10k blues are following a scammer in the name of the club we love. Will need a big push to spread the word.
He stays.
😂😂😂
Rodri
The things I would do
Rodri inspiring the next generation 🩵
A defensive midfielder was crowned ballon D’or winner and city’s second leading goalscorer is a LB who is actually a CB.
FBs playing like wingers and highly coveted ball playing CBs are essentially becoming holding midfidfielders. The “#10” barely exists anymore either.
Versatility is the wave.
Haha Game has moved on from them and they just don’t realize it yet
Raphinha is only 11 G/A away from bettering Vinicus Jr’s ‘ballon D’or’ campaign and we’re only in November.
City community strong.
Stick together 💪🏼
Feels like we’re kind of there already.
So many Swiss Army knife type of players that are expected to fulfill multiple roles.
