In Chester County, inmates are getting workforce training and jobs to match post-release The Exit, Enter, Employ program, started in January 2023, has connected more than 100 inmates with jobs. And with only a 2% recidivism rate, county officials say its been a success.

We started this program during COVID. Approximately 100 imprisoned individuals have gone through; only a few came back. It's literally putting people to work, decreasing the prison population, and saving taxpayers a lot of money.

The fact that violence could reach them here, and personally one of my students, tears at my heart. These students, more than any at any college campus I’ve been on, purposely avoid violence.

If you pray as I do, please pray for all the kids affected by this.

There are 107 HBCUs in the country. These students choose Lincoln for an opportunity to hunker down and learn. There’s no downtown to walk to or bars, just the quiet borough of Oxford and beautiful farmland.

The student I know who was hit, is like many at Lincoln I’ve come across in my three years teaching there; smart, funny, and focused. Most of my students aren’t from the area, some are, but many are from New York, Philly, Maryland or somewhere in between.
