Last year I listened to Issues on the way home from New Year’s Eve, this year I unintentionally put on Follow the Leader. Something about marking the passing of time that makes the enduring appeal of Korn particularly palpable for me

Honestly super jealous of the nonexistent students taking the “Nonhuman Feminisms on Screen” class I’m developing a sample syllabus for like damn they’re watching The After Hours and FKA twigs’ visual EP M3LL155X??

Sorry to keep you waiting! It was delightful, the best possible way to watch the Saw movies is to really try to break time apart by only taking a maximum of two 30 minute naps over the course of two days. Most people are so ungrateful to be alive, but not me. Not anymore 🪚

Tonight into tomorrow I will be attempting to marathon all ten Saw movies, plus the short if I’m brave. Let’s see how much I appreciate my life on the other side of this 🤞🏻

How to Live in a Dying World: Why We Love 'Frankenstein' So Much Nicola McCafferty looks at 'Poor Things', 'Lisa Frankenstein', and how both films declare death shouldn’t stop us from living.

Musings on the current wave of Frankenstein adaptations, Part 2 (in which I get very earnest about the power of co-creating each other)

Just putting it out there that I’d love to write essays for physical media releases and/or do audio commentary. Linking some publicly available essays and roundtables of mine below — I have much to say about gender, gialli, reanimation, movies about movies, and body surrogates

Hello to my many new followers! I’m a PhD candidate in RTVF at Northwestern, finishing up my dissertation on nonhuman flesh & technologies of the human. When I’m not taking pictures of mannequins for “research,” you can find me extolling the virtues of the Saw movies, collecting Twilight DVDs, etc…
