So strange. I was literally just talking about the blazing hot summer of 1976. Hottest on record and there was a hosepipe ban. It was bleeding the land dry.

I didn’t get the details but read the farewell letter to the fans that he was ‘Hanging up my tight Jeans’ and enjoying his retirement.

Got to say though, what a Vocalist. Great voice.

He was very young at the time and a nobody. No ego.

He’s just retired last month.

My oldest brother knew him in the early 70’s before Deep Purple. He was in a local band called ‘The Government’, had short hair and wore glasses.
