Tithi Arekar, New School alum, stands on Broadway in New York City. She wears a dress made of recovered saris that she sewed and knitted into a structural, floor-length gown.

We are excited to recognize alum Tithi Arekar for winning first prize in the 2025 Luxembourg Art Prize. Her work explores the intersection of craft, memory, and cultural heritage by using repurposed saris. Her recognized installation is an immersive structure made of knitted and stitched saris.
