You are so welcome!
🧶
This FREE pattern makes its debut this week.

Knit with Lamb's Pride, wool and mohair yarn, this hat will keep March winds at bay. And the yarn is 25% off this month!
Countrywool, located on Spring Road south of Hudson, is open Sunday from 10-2.
🧶This week is all about finishing up knitting projects that were just about done. Mercury in retrograde helps.
There will be a FREE hat pattern published in the next few days using Lamb's Pride worsted yarn (which is ON SALE at Countrywool), so watch this space.
🧶Check out the story behind the wool at The Brown Sheep Company. I design patterns for sweaters, hats, socks, mittens, shawls and ornaments with their yarns here at Countrywool. Here's a Rambouillet sheep. Read about its history with the company:

Swatch #4. Pairing this SEASIDE Lamb’s Pride alongside DEEP CHARCOAL was the answer to keeping the green kinder to my eyes. And that’s a wrap!
Next step….washing the swatch to get an accurate gauge. I’ve moved up 2 needle sizes from the original. Love this traditional Faroe Island stitch pattern!
I am a fan of the greys…. Lovely!
So many decisions…thank you for your thoughts. I am halfway through the next swatch…oooooh the charcoal!
🧶 Swatch #3…on the bottom half Lambs Pride SANDY HEATHER was used; on the top half GREY HEATHER. Subtle differences, but one is definitely clearer and warmer. I’m going to make a 4th swatch before I decide, going with a charcoal this time. Big snow is coming so there is lots of knitting time….
Snow coming! And its going to get really cold this week. We have 100% wool hand knit hats and mittens for sale. Do you have knitting or crocheting in hand to enjoy in the time between snow shovelings? Clic pic for YARNS ON SALE at 25% OFF Countrywool: open today 10-2. Stop by and stock up!
🧶Swatch #2 using Lambs Pride SEASIDE with SANDY HEATHER.
Will make one more swatch using Grey Heather to see how that contrasts . I like the clarity of these two colors so far. Stays in the warm color zone.
Sampling!
Great pre-snow knitting project… (we might get a foot it seems?)
Yup!
Thank you for the compliment ❤️
Thank you!
Thank you! Watch this space for the next swatch 🙃
Yes, I do love these colors together…but the pattern is not quite visible enough for me at 10 paces!
🧶swatch #1 for my yarn auditions…not thrilled with the lack of contrast OR the gauge. Will switch out the Aegean Tweed for Lambs Pride Sandy Heather and go up a needle size.
Stay tuned. With snow sleet coming today I am knitting a lot!
Just one!
Absolutely!
It’s great yarn. One of the best USA ones!
Hmmm. Well, Italian and Portuguese knitters use super long straight needles. I will hunt for them for you if you wish. My suggestion would be a 32” circular needle. I’ve put over 300 Aran weight stitches on them and managed. Good luck!
🧶Will make a Nordic Ridges Hat to audition these two yarns used concurrently. Two strands of Aegean Tweed equals one of Lambs Pride worsted. I LOVE these colors together, thus a hat to gauge them for a NEW sweater pattern that is floating around in my head…..

Our sweater cardigan class will start on March 1.
It meets for 3 (or 4 if needed) months on the first Sunday of each month.
This produces a beautifully finished garment as there is no sewing!
Knit with sport weight Ultra Alpaca Light wool/alpaca yarn.

Love the cables!
🧶Halfway done with sleeve #2 of the Faroe Blossom Sweater. Using the sleeves as a gauge swatch before I cast on for the body. This is the first day I’ve been able to take a picture outside in weeks!
Winter coming this afternoon. I’ll knit away while it snows.
What’s on your needles this week?
Gorgeous!!!
6* and a windchill below zero…what a great excuse to knit all day!
I have the pattern memorized now and enjoy just knitting while binge watching Bridgerton (ha!). Stranded knitting is most satisfying 🙂
What’s on YOUR needles today? 🧶
🧶 Knitting the Countrywool Faroe Blossom Sweater with
Prairie Spun DK from the Brown Sheep Company in Nebraska.
I am motoring up the first sleeve. With frigid temps this weekend, I will be camped out by the wood stove.
🧶Cold enough?!? Need warm yarns? Wool, alpaca, mohair?
