This may work.

I’m investigating the possibility of an exception for exercising, but I’m still not convinced it’s sound.

As a gentleman of a certain age I don’t hold with wearing shorts, but I’m thinking I may have to invest in a pair for my evening walks in summer.

I may wait until my belly doesn’t risk looking like an egg in an egg cup when I try these theoretical shorts on.

The first step is me maintaining some discipline and continuing to walk every day. I’m getting past some health stuff and feeling good about exercising for the first time in years. If it also leads to some content that will be a bonus.

On my evening constitutional I walked past a jogger who’d previously dashed past me, then hit the wall. I possessed the grace to look out across the road as if I hadn’t noticed, and to not snigger.

People talk about assimilation, for some reason. In my lifetime I’ve witnessed Vietnamese people arrive then adapt then create a new thing influenced by both cultures, all naturally and over a surprisingly short time. I can’t understand why people can’t see this process and enjoy it.
