RCN: NI nurses lodge dispute after rejecting pay offer The dispute, with the Northern Ireland Executive, Department of Health and health and social care employers, follows results of a ballot.

The RCN has lodged a formal pay dispute with the Northern Ireland Executive, Department of Health and HSC employers. The dispute focuses on the continuing absence of a 2025-2026 pay award for HSC nursing staff in Northern Ireland.

Threat of nurse strikes grow as RCN rejects pay offer Members of the Royal College of Nursing in England, Wales and Northern Ireland have overwhelmingly rejected the most recent NHS pay offer.

So far, every single union representing nurses and midwives has returned a 'no' vote in response to the 2025-26 Agenda for Change pay deal.
