The most enduring thing about LotR for me is that the hero of the story doesn’t come back from the journey unscathed. He’s traumatized, and because of that, he has to leave his home to find healing.

There is an audience of people who love My Dinner with Andre. They are generally older, don’t listen to podcasts, and think that shit is deep, but here’s the thing, if you listen to any podcast that is two dudes talking, it is My Dinner with Andre. It’s the same fucking talking points.
