Yeah that seems like a surefire way for the game to be miserable. I played without a guide and had fun, dunno what i did or didnt miss.

Just double-checked, cuz i thought the same thing. But guess not. Although there are only 4, not 5 on both ultra and nightmare. 2 by the armor and 1 behind each pillar.
